Mission
TigsTown’s mission is to bring Detroit Tigers fans content they can’t find anywhere else, focused on minor league coverage, detailed scouting reports and in-depth team analysis.
History
TigsTown started in 2004 as a part of the Scout.com MLB Network, a collection of baseball-related websites aimed at providing content that couldn’t be found anywhere else on the net. TigsTown made its name by covering the organization’s minor league teams, with boots on the ground for every team all season long.
Over time the site’s reach and recognition grew with its annual Top 50 rankings becoming the authority for the most recognized prospect rankings for the Detroit Tigers. The rankings were regularly featured and cited by clubs and news outlets, including the Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Oakland Press, and MLive.
Since its founding, the site has been led by Paul Wezner and Mark Anderson. Paul has been featured around the metro Detroit area on TV and radio, a special guest for radio stations like WTKA 1050 AM in Ann Arbor and 97.1 FM and 1130 AM in Detroit. Mark has had his work referenced by The Athletic and Baseball Prospectus, and is widely considered one of the most knowledgeable analysts in the game.
